  4.     EXTRADITED. Adnan Khashoggi, 54, ostentatious, peripatetic
  5. (twelve residences) multimillionaire Saudi businessman and
  6. financier; to New York City from a jail in Bern, Switzerland.
  7. Arrested by Swiss authorities last April at the request of U.S.
  8. prosecutors, he is charged with helping Ferdinand Marcos and
  9. his wife Imelda in real estate deals financed with funds stolen
  10. from the Philippine Treasury. Under terms of the extradition,
  11. Khashoggi will face prosecution for mail fraud and obstruction
  12. of justice but will not be tried on more serious racketeering
  13. charges, which are not punishable under Swiss law. Held without
  14. bail until his true worth is determined, Khashoggi faces five
  15. years in jail and a $250,000 fine if convicted.
